How Often Should HVAC Units Be serviced?

If You Have an HVAC Unit, then You Should Be Asking, “How Often Should HVAC Units Be Serviced?”

Picture
Whether you’re a homeowner or business owner, then chances are, you own at least one HVAC unit. From air conditioners to heaters to ventilation systems, HVAC units are incredibly important, and more often than not, they’re neglected. HVAC units require regular maintenance in order for them to run properly. Without regular maintenance, your HVAC unit will almost certainly break down. If you’re wondering, “how often should HVAC units be serviced”, then you’re already one step ahead of most people. Unfortunately, too many Coloradans end up with HVAC units that are damaged beyond repair because they never invested in regular HVAC maintenance services.

But with regular HVAC maintenance services, you won’t have to worry about your HVAC unit suddenly breaking down. So let’s answer that very important question: “How often should HVAC units be serviced?”

HVAC Units Need to Be Serviced at Least Once Per Year

On average, once-per-year HVAC servicing is sufficient to ward off serious HVAC problems and damages. While every HVAC unit is different and may require more attention than others, most HVAC units only require regular maintenance services once per year. However, maintenance needs can vary based on the age of the model. For instance, if you have an older HVAC unit, then you may need to have your unit serviced a few times per year as opposed to just once per year. Your service needs may also increase if you use your HVAC unit frequently. The less frequently you use your HVAC unit, the less your maintenance needs will be.

Whether it’s a heater, an air conditioner, or a ventilation system, your HVAC unit is important, and it requires regular attention and maintenance. If you want to maintain the health of your HVAC unit and avoid costly replacement fees, you’ll want to invest in regular HVAC maintenance services.

If Your HVAC Unit is Not Functioning Properly, You Should Get Your Unit Serviced More Frequently

If your unit is not functioning properly and you’ve been noticing drastic temperature changes throughout your home or office building, then you may need to consider investing in HVAC maintenance services more frequently. Age and damage can cause the unit to be more fragile, which means you’ll need to keep an eye on your unit more frequently. Not doing so could have expensive consequences, and you may end up having to replace the entire unit.

So All in All, How Often Should HVAC Units Be Serviced?

We would recommend that you service your HVAC unit at least once per year. However, if your unit is old, damaged, or just not functioning properly, then you may want to service your unit more frequently than just once per year.
